About the Role


The position requires an experienced Project Manager with a Digital focus to take a leadership role in the delivering the next phase of the strategic roadmap.  In addition to leading business critical projects, this role will be instrumental in shaping best practice Project Management at Discovery. As such, an excellent understanding of Waterfall and Agile Project Management is required along with a practical mindset ensuring outcomes achieved with the minimum of bureaucracy.


Responsibilities of role include:

  • Deliver project scope on time, on budget and to a high level of quality
  • Produce and manage project schedules and/or backlogs
  • Manage vendor deliverables, and hold the team to account
  • Assist in the preparation of business cases
  • Support the design, development and delivery of the change management plan
  • Stakeholder management
  • Support and engage senior leaders
  • Track and report risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies and decisions
  • Define, measure and monitor metrics for project success


Skills & Experience


Reporting to the Senior Manager Digital Tech, you will be visible across the business and critical to the success of the future strategic roadmap. The successful candidate will be a highly effective communicator who is confident working with all levels of the organisation, including the executive team.

  • Experience & deep knowledge of project management principles, methodologies and tools
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Agile PM and/or PMI/Prince2 certification desired
  • A background in digital projects is desired
  • Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations
  • Resilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere
  • Acute business acumen and understanding of organisational issues and challenges
  • Previous experience in an agile Software Development environment
