The Role

As the Office & Reception Manager, you will live on site and be responsible for overseeing the office administration team for the resort. You will play an important role in assisting the General Manager – Rottnest Island in the day to day operations of the resort. Your highly advanced leadership skills are essential as you guide and lead by example whilst empowering your team to drive sales and return business for Discovery Parks.

In this role you will oversee the daily management and provide supervision of the front-office team by ensuring that they focus and drive a customer-centric approach through their daily tasks and function, by actively seeking customer feedback with a view to provide continuous improvement.

Perform daily customer service-oriented tasks, which include but are not limited to; attending promptly to all queries at the front counter, phone and email enquiries as well as maintaining timely entries via the RMS booking system.

You will assist the General Manager with people management activities such as: new staff recruitment; on-barding, induction as well as on job training; provision of regular coaching and feedback for all employees. As the Office and Reception Manager you will provide regular updates and key areas for improvement to the Senior Management Team relating to customer feedback including all major issues and recommendations.

As you lead your small team you will create and maintain a positive and highly motivated work environment, where the values and behaviours of Discovery Parks are demonstrated through our Vision, Values and Code of Conduct, as well as highlighting the importance of following our corporate systems, policies and procedures.

About You

You must be highly passionate about providing exceptional customer service whilst also demonstrating to your team a positive approach to seeking customer feedback. Possessing at least 5 years previous experience in Front Office Administration and Reception management. Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite are essential particularly Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

Your ability to learn quickly and understand the importance of corporate client agreements which include agreed occupancy, revenue and service levels are adhered to and fully implemented.

Previous experience with managing employee rosters, monitoring labour budgets to ensure these don’t exceed the work requirements and comply with employment legislation. Sound experience with undertaking the day-to-day financial transactions and processes as well as assisting with occupancy level forecasting and potential revenue. You will also be responsible for compiling end of month reports and submitting these in an accurate and timely manner.

You will have a Passionate, can-do attitude with exceptional customer service skills and must always be on display as well as demonstrating a high level of initiative and highly effective and timely communication with the team. Possessing an upbeat and cheerful manner as you lead and guide your team to work in a co-operative manner.
A high level of personal and professional presentation is expected at all times as you represent Discovery Parks.
