About the Park

Set by the banks of the beautiful Leichhardt River, our holiday park Discovery Parks – Mount Isa is an excellent base to explore.  Mount Isa is renowned as the Rodeo Capital of Australia and their annual event is fast and furious fun. This is one of our many workstay parks and dog friendly parks, which includes facilities such as:

  • Permanent sites, Standard Cabins and Economy Cabins, 
  • Ensuite sites, powered and unpowered sites.
  • Swimming pool and restaurant

Argylla:

  • 30 Cabins: 6 Deluxe Cabins, 8 Superior Cabins, 6 Standard and 10 Budget cabins
  • Powered and unpowered sites
  • Swimming pool and close to Mount Isa Family Fun Park

 

The Role

You will assist the Park Manager in the day to day operations of the parks. You will be trained and developed to progress your career, in time as a Park Manager. The Assistant Manager role is a live-in role with accommodation provided and as such, you will have a hands-on approach and assist the dual park manager for both Mount Isa and Argylla.  

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Exceptional customer service - ensure all staff provide excellent service and efficiently handle guest enquiries
  • Front Office management - all aspects
  • Park Operations – ensuring the efficient delivery of all services related to running the park i.e. customer service, grounds management and cleaning.
  • Build a team culture to consistently provide customers with a safe and well-maintained park
  • Marketing - review and administration of third-party websites, local area marketing and assistance with revenue and yielding
  • Assist Park Manager with driving corporate sales for the park
  • Given the nature of our business and care for customers an on-call roster will form part of the job requirements


Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated skills and experience in hospitality management or other related industries, experience in workstay or mining highly desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in attracting and securing corporate business
  • Proven and demonstrated experience in managing, developing and training staff
  • Strong computer skills, especially in the MS Office suite
  • Proven experience in general building maintenance and grounds work
  • A flexible attitude to work, and work hours (including weekends and after hours)
  • Knowledge and understanding of WHS responsibilities
  • Previous experience with RMS or similar reservations systems will be held in high regard
  • A love of customer facing communication, tourism and ideally the outdoors and the desire to be part of a regional town
